We want everyone to have the best mini golf experience available when they visit our York centre. That’s why we’ve answered many of our frequently asked questions below to help you plan the perfect trip.
Do you have disabled access?1
Yes, all of our centres either have lifts or ramp access from the street and all centres include ramps on to the courses.
How long does a game of mini golf take?1
A game of mini golf takes approximately 10 minutes per person for one course. So if six people were playing on one course together, it would typically last about an hour. The more courses you play, the longer the game will last.
How many people can play a round of mini golf together?1
Currently you can only book for 6 people. A maximum of 60 people are allowed on each course at one time.
How old do you have to be to play mini golf?1
There are no restrictions, however we suggest that under 14s are supervised by a responsible adult/parent or legal guardian whilst in our centres. There is no upper age limit, we love to see all ages coming together to have mini golf, maxi fun. Areas within our centres have age restrictions, e.g. only over 18s are allowed in our bar after 9pm. Under 18's are also only allowed in our premises after 6pm with a responsible adult/parent or legal guardian. We will ask for proof of age.
Can I bring my own putter or balls?1
We provide putters & balls so all you need to bring is your 'A' game!
What age is classed as junior for mini golf?1
The junior age range is 0-15 years old.
What is your dress code?1
There is no set dress code, other than that we ask our guests to remove any hoods and caps so that we can see their smiling faces! Obviously, we ask that you behave appropriately and considerately at all times, which covers wearing appropriate clothing for a family centre.
Can I book mini golf in advance?1
Yes. We don’t like turning people away, and as mini golf can get busy at peak times, we always advise people to book online in advance or through our contact centre for the best prices.
How much does a game of mini golf cost?1

What is the breakdown of the family deal?1
The family deal for 4 people is for 2 adults and 2 juniors, or 1 adult and 3 juniors.
The family deal for 5 people is for 2 adults and 3 juniors, or 1 adult and 4 juniors.
Can I watch other people play mini golf?1
You will need to pay to play each course, you are welcome to wait for family and/or friends in the Diner, bar or amusements area if you’re not playing.
Do you offer a concession rate?1
Yes, we offer concessionary rates of around 50% to those with disabilities (and their carers) and seniors. These rates are available every weekday before 6pm, for 48 weeks out of 52, including the summer and Easter holidays. There are certain limited ‘peak’ periods where it is not always possible to offer any concessionary discounts. This applies to all our concessionary or promotional rates, including those with disabilities (and their carers), adult, family, student and senior groups.
Do you offer discounts for large parties, group bookings and students?1

How do I cancel or amend a booking?1
To cancel or amend a booking please call our contact centre via telephone or complete the contact form on our website. There are no rights of refund or exchange and you acknowledge that the cancellation rights contained in the Consumer Protection (contracts regulations 2014) do not apply to the services we offer. We will however move your booking to a future date free of charge for you, if you contact us to do so. For full terms please see our T&Cs page.
Can I buy gift vouchers?1
Yes, we have vouchers available for either £10 or £20. These can be bought from your local centre directly or you can call our contact centre on 0844 826 1457^. Alternatively, if you’re interested in gift vouchers as part of employee rewards, please email email@example.com for more details or submit your enquiry to us via our contact form.

Do I have to wear a face covering when I visit?1
As per Government guidelines, masks are no longer compulsory in our English centres.
Can I turn up & golf, or do I need to pre-book?1
Online pre-booking is not compulsory, but is advised during peak weekend and school holiday periods.
Are the Putters & Balls cleaned on a regular basis?1
Putter are returned to reception for cleaning after each game and golf balls are also retained for cleaning between each game, as part of the enhanced cleaning regime in place at Puttstars.
We know that safety is a primary concern for all of our visitors at Puttstars. We have undertaken a risk assessment and as part of this implemented a rigorous & enhanced cleaning regime across our centres.
Here at Puttstars we are also able to offer disposable gloves for mini-golf. These are available upon request from reception in adult and children’s sizes, should any customers feel more comfortable and safer using these during their visit.
Are Puttstars “Card Only” or Can I Pay by Cash?1
As part of our covid safe guidelines, contactless payments are preferred, and our mini golf centres are still accepting chip and pin and cash payments.

Car: After coming off the A64, we are located off the A1036 Malton Road to York. If you are following the A1237 outer ring road, follow the Monks Cross Link road.
Bus: Silver Line service 9 runs between 7.00am and 8.00pm every 10 minutes, and every 20 minutes after, up until 9.40pm.
Train: York centre is the closest train station, and is just a short bus ride on the Number 9 Silver Line service.
